While organizations are at different stages of their digitization journeys, and some sectors are ahead of others, our research demonstrates an understanding among industry leaders that there is a digital imperative — and that those who don’t invest in these technologies risk being left behind.

  • Efficiency Becomes Vital Against Resource Constraints : Organizations are focused on creating efficiencies, improving business operations, and raising customer satisfaction. Seventy-nine percent of HLS organizations now cite creating efficiencies and reducing costs as their prime focus.
  • Prioritizing Progress: Meeting Challenges and Scaling for Future Success : HLS organizations have yet to fully realize how technology can be used to improve processes and activate data. Less than half (44%) of HLS organizations are currently executing on or have completed a digital transformation journey.
  • Unlocking Productivity, Efficiency, and Customer-Centricity : HLS leaders are using digital tools to improve productivity, operations, and customer satisfaction. Seventy-three percent of HLS leaders say that automated workflows contributed to an increase in productivity.
  • Automation and AI: Tools of Tomorrow Fulfilling the Priorities of Today :Leaders across the industry are investing in automation and AI to help confront the challenges of both today and tomorrow. The majority of HLS leaders agree that automation (79%) and AI (69%) are important to
    the future of their companies.
  • Connecting the Dots with Integration: Too many systems are getting in the way of industry goals. Industry leaders have begun to realize that true transformation goes beyond digitization, with many investing in integration efforts. Pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturers use an average of 78 different systems to operate.
